Ethical use of AI

On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, an online panel “Artificial intelligence and ethical use: current situation in Serbia”, was organized within the Safeguard-DH project and led by Dr Bogdan Trifunović, project coordinator.

The panel gathered around 80 registered participants from the cultural heritage and creative sectors, academic and research institutions, education, state administration, non-governmental organizations and entrepreneurship.

During 60 minutes, the participants became more familiar with the results of the “Questionnaire on ethical the use of artificial intelligence in the processes of digitization and digital transformation”, held as part of the project in December 2025, followed by a short discussion results.

The presented results of the questionnaire showed that AI is significantly used in professional purposes by individuals and that numerous ethical questions and dilemmas are present, for the resolution of which the institutional framework and capacities are largely lacking.

The analysis of the results indicates that the conditions are changing at a high point of the institutional framework, there is a need to adopt guidelines, instructions and other documentation that would help regulate the practice of ethical use of AI, which is completely in in accordance with the objectives of the Safeguard-DH project.
